The Village Project has helped me tremendously of realizing partly what it is going to be like to be a teacher. I really am thankful to have the experience that I have gotten from it. It has taught me a few things I will takeaway and use in my future. I will list my top ten most important takeaways down below.

1. Setting classroom rules in the very beginning
2. Having expectations and carrying them out
3. Briefly talking to each student to see how there day has been going
4. Connecting with the students and getting to know them personally
5. Have an understanding of there background and home life
6. Making activities seem exciting
7. Engaging students to learn
8. One-on-one interactions shows students you care and want to help them
9. Awarding students for working hard and good behavior
10. Having a set routine for each day so students know what to expect

One thing I think is very important for educators is to get involved in the community that they work in. It is important for families in the communities to know who you are and some of your goals that you want to bring to the community. I could also express my thoughts and feelings to the rest of the staff and the board at the school to try to advocate for the kids or share my thoughts on specific things that are occurring. Pushing my students and trying to get them to reach their top potential would be another example of what I could do for the common good as an educator. If I do not agree with the way the district or state is making me teach my content, or feel that the informations I am suppose to teach my students is not what they need or should know, then I could advocate for them to help the common good.
